Gastroenterology - Larsen

Marcelo F. Larsen, M.D., Chief of the Gastroenterology Endoscopy Unit and Maria T. Abreu, M.D., Chief of the Division of Gastroenterology at UHealth have recently presented at international conferences in Argentina and Peru. Physicians from all over the world had the opportunity to learn the latest in endoscopic techniques in treating Barret’s esophagus conditions, enteroscopy and inflammatory bowel diseases, and advances and complications of endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography.

These conferences not only offer a bilateral exchange of clinical knowledge but also help identify areas of collaboration and patient referrals, creating a link among global institutions, patients, and specialists. “In my opinion, new social and professional bridges with South and Central America can play a key role in the future development of our Institution,” said Dr. Larsen, who is working on future conference dates in Mexico, Ecuador, Argentina, and Brazil.
